Usually I do not bring my thoughts about politics/laws to LJ, but... I just had to for once. Since this is such a historic ruling. Please bear with me. This is a great news to me, because I, as a liberal for now, has always advocated for marriages regardless of whatever sex is together ever since I was a teen. And especially since I'm in California, this makes the ruling much more meaningful to me. I feel... amazed, and proud and happy that they would finally approve what should have been obvious- I understand that the Bible has not consented to this and many Americans are Christians, and that people like sticking with old traditions and seeing something this new is unacceptable to them. Gay marriages and LGBT marriages were UNHEARD OF just 30 years ago- but, I want to say, what gives people the right to stop other people from loving? Why should people be concerned that other people are not following their idea of living? Should love be just between man and woman? Since when was love supposed to be judged from bodies? Shouldn't love be judged from the soul, and since soul (to me) has no gender, shouldn't love be genderless?

One of my close relatives gave me this reason- humanity would not be able to carry on (ie. have children) if the government allow gays and lesbians to marry. And, to me, that reason smelled like bullshit- in Ancient Greece, if I could recall, in Athens or Sparta maybe? people were allowed to be gay, and did their society collapse? No, I think it thrived. There would ALWAYS be, to me, an equal amount of gays, lesbians, and heterosexuals. People won't and don't randomly flock to the gay/lesbian side after LGBT civil unions are allowed.

My point/rant is clear.

I feel so heavy... not the overweight kind of leavy, but more like the my-soul-is-heavy type. One of my dreams is to see the world- I want to see the North Pole, see global warming occuring there and large waterfalls coming out from the ice; I want to see the green rolling hills of New Zealand in all its glory; I want to see the streets of Mumbai, India, with people struggling for life and a better tomorrow; I want to see the Strait of Gibraltar, where two lands, two lovers, almost meet but can never touch; I want to see the people of London, England, bustle with everyday life and the Elizabeth Tower overlooking them all; I want to see the Victoria Falls in Zambia/Zimbabwe, Africa, where all of nature's beauty is displayed; I want to see everything, and not with my body, but with my soul. I'd be amazing if I can fly one day, but the most I want is to be able to fly and see the world with my soul. But that requires meditiation, and if I meditate just for that I'd be in trouble.

I feel so heavy.

Alright, finished the pic... and it looks horrible. ;u; Posting other pics of my art as well. xP
I'm sorry- it looks nothing like the beauty I had originally copied from. 'Cuz I can't draw guys and epic pictures and digital art to save my life.

Reallyreallyreally want to draw this pic! I think I will post it in my journal when I'm done- maybe a WIP progress if it turns out successful lol~

Oh, woe to my story... haven't even got chapter 1 finished yet ;u; But then again, I always perfect one chapter before moving on...

Wahh, my novel process is going so slow. ;u; I've only just began chapter 1 and it's already at ~2000 words in length. This is going to be a thick novel and I have a long journey ahead of me. XP
pennilee: (free)
I'm writing a novel right now, haha- nothing fancy, I doubt it'll get published, but it is something I've been thinking about for a couple of months already. Should go around 20-30 chapters should I complete this project. <3 Hehe, this is my first time writing original fiction! :D ... that wasn't issued as a school project. Lol, maybe I can finish it by this year's Nanowrimo... AHAHAHAHA I don't think so. :p
pennilee: (hello?)
I've decided to finally purge every doujin and merchandise I don't love from the bottom of my heart in to the sales page in mid/late-April. That includes things that have yet to come to me and things I had been planning to sell earlier. I feel glad, because then I could finally take the load off my shoulders and say goodbye to the doujinshi community/my merch after so long. God, I hate it when I buy doujins then after half an hour later I shove them into the 'to sell' pile. So I've decided to not buy them again to avoid having to go through the burden of selling them, seriously this is getting old.

Adding a BUNCH more items for sale during late April! The final, massive purge to my collection will be then- some items for sale then will be CG doujins and official Knight English-translated anthologies, Hetalia doujins and books [this time there will be Chinese ones as well!], rubber straps [volume 1 of Hetalia- bought then don't want], etc. Maybe even a couple of Magi books if I don't want them. That will be my last sales update because I'm not planning to buy anything else after. Stay tuned!!!

So hopefully some that are looking to purchase things are looking at this page right now because I will be adding a LOT of items from Hetalia and Code Geass, and possibly Magi, but I'm not so sure about that. Stay tuned for my sales update (when it becomes noticeable again since I'm editing it right now and it doesn't look appealing, plus some items haven't arrived yet) and ads into other comms. :)

I have a confession to make.

Well, to begin, has anyone ever felt terrible when they look at their merchandises and doujins and see stacks of them on the bookshelves/displays? I mean, I keep track of my order and precisely how much I spend, and, really, I've been spending A LOT over this 8 months since I was introduced to the selling/trading community on LJ. And by that, I mean $500+. I'm too scared to pinpoint exactly how much I've been spending.

I feel terrible. This, I believe, must stop soon and if I keep doing this I'll fall into huge debt/make my life miserable. And that's not very pretty. I've been emptying my savings and... that's not good. So yeah. I'm being too wasteful, in short, and I should've known better than to be sucked up into buying all these items, only to sell them out at a much lower price and don't care later.

There.

after I receive a couple of more items I'm planning on reselling (bought a box of straps I no longer want) , I will no longer be purchasing doujins at all and will quit being a [livejournal.com profile] hetalia_sell member and any other selling communities, and will turn my attention to scanlations ONLY. I will also no longer be so active on LJ, Hetalia, and any other fandoms.

Oh, how I lose my mind in the things I love... it's scary and intimidating, now that I look back and see the destruction I caused over my desire.

A Bet

Lol, made a bet with my friend; if I read 5000 pages in this week, he'll have to man up and kiss his girlfriend on the lips instead of on the cheek lolz. IT'S FINALLY THE TIME FOR DEAR! TIME TO GO TO THE LIBRARY AND READ MY ASS OFF. <3

busy...

pennilee: (let's get down to business)
Augh, so busy with life and work lately. I barely have time to post to my journal nowadays. :p Welp, it's going to be a 3-day weekend, so I'm going to soak up some time and relax. :D
pennilee: (concerned)
I really don't want to collect anything at all afterall. :p Well, you know that feeling when you see something you think you want? After you get it, if it's not something useful, the feeling just kinda goes away... at least for me. I mean, I think I don't really care about these things anymore, like owning these items and stuff. Stuff that really does not mean anything to me but rather I wanted to get them because it pleased the conformist in me. But afterwards, the me that wants to be frugal and save money to donate to charity slaps me upside the head and tells me to not collect these items and just stick to buying doujins- at least you can read them over and over again.

So I'm thinking of selling my Hetalia items after the box of rubber straps arrive and along with other stuff. I just don't think owning these are worth it... I'm not really materialistic, and I tell myself not to be one, for the real thing that matters is not in what you own, but rather your heart. So I think I'll just stick to watching anime and occasionally buying doujinshi to read. Buying merchandises after all is not so much a pleasing thing anymore. :p I think I outgrew my obsession to buy... I guess, in other words, worthless things. But I think I'll keep the ArteStella deck... xD

But I've had a bad experience with the PO (losing the first package I send, WITH DELIVERY CONFIRMATION >:(), so I'm a little hesitant on selling.
pennilee: (gooddaysir)
It's almost New Years, guys! One more day (excluding today) until 1/1/2013!! Are you guys excited? :3 I know I a for the new Hetalia season!

Btw, I think I'm pretty much giving up on my fic... I mean, while the plot seems good, my foundation for the plot is not so good. I'll probably be either typing on (but I've pretty much lost all my inspiration for that fic :p- I need to hurry to the main plot if I want my inspiration to be back), or going to my other fic idea (A Tale of One Thousand Years and a Night- I know, how original ;p) , which is about events in history reenacted by Hetalia characters, from the rise of the Qin dynasty to the American revolution. However, I'd have to do major researches on those battlefields or just make the scenes not to graphic and stuff. But either way, research is still mandatory for such a ficlet. :p
pennilee: (awesome!)
Happy Christmas and a happy New Years! And yes, I did sing Marukaite Chikyuu when it turned exactly 12 AM on December 25th. :3
pennilee: (Default)
Hmm... after I viewed someone's journal about going to a con, I'm wondering if I should go to Anime Expo. I mean, first of all, I'm at great advantages since I live really close to LA.

But stilllll. I'd need to produce huge bucks of money in hand to buy stuff over there (heard that they sell pretty much anything- from Vocaloid figmas to boxes of Hetalia straps. :3 Also, it's huge, so I'm afraid I'll get lost. Plus, I need a cosplay. I have a Belarus one, but I'm Asian, so it's not, I guess, very apt for me, so I'm thinking of buying a Taiwan one, but cosplays suck up your money. T____T

And I want to buy an artbook Toccata; the Art of Shilin Huan but I just preordered the straps (but I still don't know if I should truly buy it) and pretty much bought the England + Prussia straps too. Yes, I know England's in there, but like I said, idk if I'm really buying the box of straps so just in case. xD Either way, I'll be selling the straps, so no problem!

So yup, the artbook will have to wait a while, since I need more money. //sobs in corner
pennilee: (awesome!)
I have so many books to read! I finished Gone with the Wind sometime ago (what a great book!) and am jumping into Les Miserables. I've always wanted to read the book, but the 1500+ pages scared me for a while, making me think I have no time for it. :p But now, since the movie's almost being released, I thought- what a good time to dive in! So I went to the local library and checked out a copy of it. It was the Norman Denny Penguin classics one. The Signet one wqas pretty much unreadable for me, and the Modern Library by Julie Rose was too modern- heard she tried making it more appealing to modern time people by cutting out entire passages of Les Miserables and replaced it with what she thought was more readable.

So yeah. Denny's edition sounded pretty good to me. And so I opened the book, taking note of the crinkled cover and taped binding. I took a deep breath and flipped the pages, reading the introduction and then going on to the first page of the book. \

I'm around 200+ pages in right now, and it's looking pretty good- drama's going to come, and hit me like a train. I especially love the way Valjean is contemplating on his morals right now, between staying as Madeleine or going in to take the place of Champathieu. Such an interesting character he is!

Either way, after this story, I'm going to finish the long-on-gold book of The Storm of Swords- haven't been reading it since September when I borrowed it from the library and lost it, needing to pay $27 in fines, since there's a $10 "processing fee". I'm seriously thinking it was just to warn me of the consequences. xD

So yup- listening to Les Mis' music (I Dreamed a Dream or Do You Hear the People Sing) and Game of Thrones' theme song is awesome. Especially in this cold weather, curled up, covered in blankets, drinking hot cocca, with rain, and with the book in my hand. :D

I had to purchase the Storm of Swords + A Feast for Crows since I'm afraid of losing the book again. xD But I got them both used in acceptable condition for $7.5 shipped! And I love used books. :3 It is all good- those two books are going to keep me busy for a while. xD

Can't wait to see the movie! Going on premiere day, which is on Christmas, awesome, great day to appreciate life! You going? :D
pennilee: (agreed)
So... has anyone heard of the music genre darkwave neoclassic?

I'm guessing no. It's a very small genre, sort of combining folk, classic, and chamber orchestra all together. Idk, but it's something like that. Anyway, I love all of those genres I pointed out. Folk, classic, chamber orch, and darkwave neoclassical. :3 Especially Two Steps from Hell, Akiko Shikata (her voice is from heaven, I swear), and Globus. These three are my absolute favorite bands.

Globus is the band I listen to whenever it is raining outside. xD Not just for rains, but for other stuff too, like the soldier/dark side of Hetalia. Their Crusaders of the Light is heavenly. Gives me the chills whenever I listen to it. :3 Also when I feel remorse or moody I listen to them to fit my mood. :3 Playing Toontown also fits with this sometimes, especially when fighting the bosses.

Two Steps from Hell (I only like their two albums- Invincible and Archangel; I swear, when I save up for them I'll buy Invincible.) is for getting up in the morning and doing work or rushing to get something done. They help me so much, and make my actions sound like I'm rescuing the world. :D The two I listen to the most from them is To Glory and Archangel. God, Akiko Shikata's Katayoku no Tori and Archangel fits together so much. :D I also listen to them whenever I'm playing Toontown.

Akiko Shikata, my favorite singer... what can I say about you? Your voice is from heaven, and your music is unearthly. In a good way, of course. But anyway... I need to get your albums, but sadly, they're so rare that each of them is well above $30. ;u; Pantalea and Katayoku no Tori are my favorites from her. Those are the first two songs I've heard from her after someone on DeviantArt mentioned her in the comments. YOU HAVE CHANGED MY LIFE. //not really, but still I listen to her the most whenever doing anything, and I can't find any new interesing songs. :3

So there it is- my three favorite singers/bands of all time. :D Sometimes I listen to a mainstream song obsessively (etc. Some Nights and We are Young by Fun, and they're actually liked by me too), but other than that, those three are my mains. :3

(:p had to stay home because of stomach flu... oh, I'm scared to see how much work is going to be for me when I return tomorrow ;u;)

Holy! I received the Canon camera just today! And after I've posted about it yesterday! Talk about fast shipping. :3 Well, now in case I'm going to sell my stuff and I need to provide photos, that cam's going to come into handy. :3 That baby looks good, and the flash drive is no problem- just gotta pull it up beforehand taking pics. :D It's so awesome! The cam is for semiprofessionals, and since I'm in the yearbook club, it's great! :D God, I love it. :3 //squee
pennilee: (gooddaysir)
Woot, purchased a used Canon Rebel EOS XTi SLR cam 10.1 MP w/18mm-55mm lens on eBay! It comes with case, USB cord, charger, battery, lens caps, manual, a 2GB memory card, and some other stuff. However, it's flash drive must be propped up manually or else it will come with an error message, and I must turn it off and on. Otherwise all is good- I can't wait to be receiving it! Talk about a good Christmas present! Such a bargain too! @237.50! :D //dances

Can't wait for it to come! //btw, he said he would ship it priority but there's no tracking... D: Oh well, it just needs to arrive within the time frame. :)

12/12/12!

Dec. 12th, 2012 07:26 pm
pennilee: (agreed)
Woot, today is 12/12/12! The first and only time it will be such a date. :D

Also, progressed on ToonTown- now maxxed four gags, about to get juggling balls, and is 106 laff and got my lawbot suit- is training for CEO suit. T_T However, the suit is quite hard, so... //must do so many front threes xD Gained a couple of good friends on TT btw. :) Haha, oh why, Toontown, you call me back when I've quit? Seriously, Disney is a genius- it knows that we will forever be chained to Toontown. xD Been playing since around 2009/2010. xD

Also need to finish 1st part of fic by deadline, which is at the end of this year. God. :/ So much pressure right now, ugh. Work is also piling up. :p Tests and exams are coming to me at the speed of a 200 mph train. :( Maybe because of my laziness, too, but whatever.

Hey, at least I finished my drawing/detailed sketch. Now, onto another picture! GAH, I want to draw so much things and I've all favorited them but I have so many more to go and ugh. But that's my life, and hey, I kinda like it. :D At least I'm not chained by debt. ^____^"

I am also planning to get a box of Box 1 Hetalia rubber straps from a Japanese site that can ship internationally- either YesAsia or cdjapan,co, depending on which company has it in stock and which is cheaper. So far cdjapan is, but they only have three in stock- YesAsia is around at $5 extra cost, but they're consistant on the stock. So I don't know until I save up enough money to purchase from them. If any of you guys know a cheaper but trustworthy site to order from, please tell me! :D A site that can accept Paypal anyways. :p

I kinda want to get a Pixiv girls artbook 2012, but I don't think I'll be able to save up to ~$100 (straps and artbook+SHIPPING OMG SHIPPING YOU DREADFUL THING). Once I order the box of straps at around Christmas/New Years, I'll probably be keeping them for a while then having a huge sale of whatever Hetalia merch I don't really want. Haha, I don't even know how much I have. xD

However, USPS failed me on the first package I sent, so... :/ Grrr. Not funny, USPS. My trust in you has dropped around 40%, despite the fact that my letters you have always managed to deliver. :p First impression last the most, bro!

Looking forward to Christmas, btw- I can just imagine the lights shining outside, drinking Hot Milk Tea and curled up reading Les Miserables. :D Oh, who's going to watch the movie? :D So excited for it! ^_^ Also, I just love the fact that on Christmas, pretty much everyone forget fighting, hating, and stop shaking fists at each other but reconcile or at least, forget it for just a day, Man, I wish that this could last 24/7 365 days! :D It's raining outside right now, hmm, wonder if I should read A Christmas Carol right now or listen to a Christmas-y song... OH, I know! What about Last Christmas (I Gave You My Heart) don't know the title by Wham!? OH YEAH! :3

Either way, God bless you! :)

That's pretty much it. :D
pennilee: (Default)
Remind me...

Why am I playing Toontown again? Especially when the game's so addicting? I'm having trouble staying on tasks now, and the game membership fee is actually quite abnormal... ;u; Oh, at least it's not permanent. I'll just move on (and then come back) when Toontown doesn't give its old members something new to do. :p
